Built in 1838 The Nesbitt Arms Hotel takes its name from the last Whaling family in Ireland and lies at the hub of the heritage town of Ardara. Irelands capital in the manufacture of hand-woven tweeds and handknits.

The Nesbitt Arms enjoys significant all year round trade catering for both local and tourist markets, and since the completion of the major investment programme in 2004, it has built up an excellent reputation for the quality of its food, accommodation and service.
This beautiful family run hotel, was completely refurbished in 1998 to the highest modern standard, and is in excellent decorative order throughout. With a Star rating of AA*** it consists of 50 ensuite bedrooms, reception area, traditional style lounge bar/bistro, separate restaurant, modern catering kitchen, meeting room, a lift and a large function room.
Between the majestic Blue Stack Mountains, miles of unspoilt sandy beaches ands rugged coastline, it is an ideal base for touring S.W. Donegal with Killybegs and its fishing fleet, Glencolmcille and Slieve League and Glenveagh National Park all within easy reach.
There are many beautiful walks nearby; to Maghera Strand and Caves and the Asseranca Falls; Rosbeg via Traighmore beach and Sheskinmore nature reserve; to Narin and Portnoo with its wonderful links Golf Courese overlooking the Gweebarra Bay and on towards Arranmore Island, Inniskeel Island where the remains of St Conal's Sixth Century Church can be reached at lowtide and the truly magical Lough Doon, where you can take a rowing boat out to the 2000 year old stone fort built on an island in the centre.
Other activities include, of course fishing, with the Owenea River (Salmon & Sea Trout) 1 mile away and numerous brown trout lakes around. There is also sea fishing from the rocks at Loughros Point, Rosberg and Portnoo or Deep Sea Angling from Killybegs.
