 Donegal Attractions & Activities

Donegal has always been a place like no other, with its rugged coastline, majestic mountains, award winning beaches and acres of unspoilt open spaces for you to explore on Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way.

The Wild Atlantic Way

Nestled in a valley surrounded by spectacular scenery along Donegal’s Wild Atlantic Way, the Nesbitt Arms Boutique Hotel is an ideal haven to relax after a day exploring all that this unique coastline has to offer.  Walk the blue flag beach at Narin and inhale the sea spray into your lungs or take a roadtrip up Sliabh Liag Cliffs and really see what is like to be on top of the world.

Ardara Heritage Town

Ardara is situated close to the small River Owentocher. This heritage town is a major centre for the manufacture of hand-woven tweeds with several shops along the main street selling tweeds and hand-knitted sweaters.  You can pop into one of these and enjoy a weaving demonstration, a trade dating back many decades or pick up some beautiful traditional pieces for yourself or presents for your friends and family back home.  A recent addition to Ardara is the eclectic Donegal Design Makers Shop.  Here you can enjoy crafts from soaps, ceramics, tweeds, knitwear, jewellery, paintings and much more from over 25 designers - all from Donegal. This shop is part of the unique Irish Craft Trail and a visit wont disappoint!

Golf in Donegal

It’s a golfers paradise here with Narin and Portnoo Golf Links a mere 10 minutes drive from the hotel. Considered by many to be one of the finest natural and scenic 18 hole links courses in the whole of Ireland with breath taking views over Gweebarra Bay.  Many of our guests come and stay for a few nights to enjoy golf here at Narin & Portnoo and then move onto the beauitful 9 hole Cruit Island course, set on the edge of the wild and rugged Atlantic Ocean with unrestricted panoramic views that will simply take your breath away.  You could also drive to Murvagh Championship Course in Donegal Town a mere 30 minutes away so as golf goes, it doesnt get any better than this and our hotel is a super base.
